Holistic physical therapy

Holistic physiotherapy looks beyond the location of your complaint. Your symptoms may have multiple and often deeper underlying causes. That is why I always consider you as a whole in the recovery process. I look at your overall wellbeing and how it affects your body. Pain is often just a signal, while the actual cause usually lies elsewhere. Everything in the body works together, physically, mentally, and emotionally. When this collaboration is disrupted, it can manifest in different ways.
The body functions as one whole, connected through fascia and movement chains. When a dysfunction arises in one part of the chain, for example due to a trigger point, adhesion, scar tissue, or weak link, it can cause complaints in a completely different area. A limited rotation in the upper back may lead to shoulder pain. Problems in the feet may result in hip complaints. A scar in the abdominal area may cause lower back pain, and a disturbed breathing pattern can even trigger headaches. The body is like a puzzle in which everything is interconnected. I help you unravel this puzzle and work with you towards a lasting solution so that your complaints do not keep returning.

In treatment, I combine different techniques that reinforce each other. Depending on your situation, I may use fascial techniques, dry needling, manual therapy, mobilization techniques, cupping, and exercise therapy. Together, we explore what you need to achieve sustainable recovery.

Holistic physiotherapy is the right choice if you not only want to get rid of your complaints, but also gain insight into their underlying causes, allowing you to move forward with more balance, freedom, and energy.

Abdominal & Organ Fascia Release

The abdominal fascia surrounds our organs, organs that maintain our homeostasis day and night. They all work together to keep our internal environment balanced so that our body functions optimally. These organs are surrounded by connective tissue, muscles, and the skin.

Adhesions in the connective tissue can occur due to factors such as posture, excessive core training, nutrition, viral conditions, obesity, surgeries, or radiation in the abdominal region. This can lead to reduced organ function and pain complaints elsewhere in the body, such as back pain, shoulder pain, or hip pain. It can also lead to issues such as a bloated abdomen, gastrointestinal complaints, or disrupted lymph and blood circulation. Additionally, traumas and emotions are often stored in this area.

Treating the abdomen improves organ function, reduces complaints elsewhere in the body, promotes better posture, and brings space, flow, and relaxation to the entire body.
During a treatment, various structures are released, such as connective tissue, diaphragm, heart, lungs, liver, stomach, spleen, gallbladder, kidneys, bladder, reproductive organs, plexus, psoas muscle, and the lymphatic system and blood circulation are balanced.

Cupping

This therapy focuses on reducing tension in the connective tissue, where stress, trauma, and blockages are often stored. When this tension builds up, it can lead to various physical complaints, such as muscle tightness, breathing difficulties, poor posture, digestive issues, and inflammation.

Cupping targets the body’s meridian system, the points through which energy flows. At these points, adhesions and waste products can accumulate, causing the system to become imbalanced. The treatment helps restore the flow of energy and addresses adhesions, waste buildup, and blockages.
